Credit for hearing me speak. CCLS Certification & MCLE credits coming soon

leg2.gifI'm currently in the process of applying to become an approved provider of MCLE credits. In addition to my role in life as a court reporting service, I've been going around speaking about my secondary field of expertise -- marketing. Since I've been speaking to legal secretary and paralegal associations the ultimate value-add for me is to make attending one of my seminars, workshops and speeches count toward those credits! Well, that process has begun today by me coordinating with Joan Layte the chairman of certification through LSI.

I found the following information on their website quite helpful...

Once you have become a California Certified Legal Secretary, you must complete 15 hours of continuing legal education within a 3-year period in order to maintain your certification. Every 3 years, you must submit proof of attendance of at least 15 hours of continuing education to the CCLS® Certifying Board with the Application for Recertification and a fee.

And you are able to get your credits by...

3. Attendance at seminars and workshops that focuses on the duties of legal support staff and is an approved provider (use the Certificate of Attendance form).

Thus my speaking engagements will be even more valuable than ever.
