Email Disclaimers At The Bottom??
Why is it that law firm staff seem to put the disclaimer and confidentiality notices at the bottom of an email? Most of the disclaimers I`ve read have something to the effect of -- If you are not the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that any viewing, copying, disclosure or distribution of this information may be subject to legal restriction or sanction.
Here`s a question...
Isn`t it too late by then?
Maybe the disclaimer should be at the top of the email? I`m just saying. Can anyone give me a good explanation for this disclaimer appearing at the bottom of emails and not the top?I typically read my emails from the top to the bottom; don`t you? Heck, even faxes have all that legal-ese up front on the cover page.
Anyway, just a mini rant.
