Slasher 1.0. | The court reporting teacher's friend
"Spend More Time Dictating And Less Time Slashing!"
As a former court reporting teacher, I know all too well the pain associated with finding new and exciting dictation materials for my students. Back in those days (1998 & 1999) I would grab just about any magazine article or book as dictation material. But then in order to dictate the text accurately -- at the designated speed -- I would have to count so many words and add a "slash" (/); count the words; add a slash. And on and on. There had to be a better way.
Surely, I was not the only court reporting instructor who could use a tool such as Slasher 1.0; right? Send me a message through my blog if you like this tool. Hopefully, it's a time saver for you and your classes. Enjoy! Oh, before I forget, this Slasher 1.0 thing is intended as a free tool created to aid court reporting schools, instructors and even students. The software puts a slash every nth word. Please enjoy and make sure to double check our work -- we're pretty darn good but not perfect. The software is offered "as is." If you ever see a problem in the calculation, we definitely want to know so we can fix it! Blog entry.
